Art Journalling for Wellbeing

Looking for ways to calm your soul and keep your anxiety at bay?

Trying to maintain your resilience and focus?

We all have little nervous habits, repetitive movements such as hair twirling, fidgeting and knuckle cracking. (I’m an annoying pen tapper myself.) 

What you may not realise is that these habits are our bodies’ way of coping when we’re anxious or dealing with stressful situations. While our bodies are preparing for fight or flight, these repetitive movements help to calm us down and focus.

So what if we replace these habits with other more constructive repetitive actions, like colouring, drawing or crochet? Finding a hobby that encompasses this idea and also teaches you focus, resilience and patience can be most rewarding.

This is where my Art Journalling for Wellbeing workshops come in.

Using repetitive art techniques such as mindful colouring, doodle drawing and pointillism (dot painting) to create beautiful and mindful journal pages can give you something positive to focus and reflect on.

My Art Journalling for Wellbeing group has been running since September 2019 & has been growing well. I run 3 classes at the moment & charge £3.50 per person per week.

* Wednesday mornings 9.30-11.30 am at Finchampstead Library

* Thursday mornings 10am - 12 noon at Wokingham Library

* Thursday afternoons 1-3pm at Wokingham Library

I am hoping to role this out to other libraries around the Wokingham Borough but obviously at the moment - due to COVID19 - we are on hold in terms of meeting in person. 

HOWEVER, at the moment we are maintaining contact through Zoom meetings. If you would like to join us, please contact me for details.
